Postgraduate study grants are awarded as one-off financial support for tuition fees and costs connected with writing and defending the thesis for obtaining the academic degree of a Doctor of Philosophy/Arts or the academic title of a university specialist in a particular field.

Grants are awarded on the basis of a public call for applications. The call is published in a daily newspaper and on the County website, as well as referred to the J.J. Strossmayer University of Osijek for the purpose of publication on the University website. This is done once a year, usually after the adoption of the County budget. The call for applications is open 30 days from the date of its publication.

Postgraduate studies offer education to young people from Osijek-Baranja County that allows them to attain the highest level of knowledge without which no progress can be achieved in the economy or in other sectors such as health, social welfare, education, administration and justice, not to mention numerous other activities that require new insights and familiarity with the latest scientific developments.

The Programme aims to make it easier for postgraduate students to finance tuition fees by means of a one-off financial support. By offering financial support, we want to encourage young people to pursue lifelong learning and to acquire knowledge and competences at the highest educational level.
